First Day Of School Postponed As East Allegheny Teachers Strike

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Tuesday was supposed to be the first day of school in the East Allegheny School District.

But instead, teachers are expected to go on strike.

The teachers union and school board can't agree on a contract.

They're at odds over a number of issues, including teacher pay.

The teachers have been working without a contract for more than two years.

More than 3,000 students attend schools in the district.
