Vacant House Catches Fire In Allentown, Threatens Old Church Next Door

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A vacant house caught on fire this afternoon in Pittsburgh's Allentown neighborhood.

According to emergency dispatchers, the fire broke out at a home in the 800 block of Proctor Way around 2:30 p.m.

The house is close to the Family Links Alcohol Family Treatment Center and several other homes.

The treatment center is located in the former St. John Vianney Church, which closed its doors and held its final mass last month.

Firefighters were able to prevent the flames from jumping over to the old church.
