3 Homes Destroyed By Fire In Swissvale

SWISSVALE (KDKA) - Three homes were destroyed by a fast moving fire in Swissvale Thursday morning.

According to officials at the scene, the fire broke out around 6:15 a.m. on Milligan Avenue.

When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting into the street from all three homes.

Sue Howe lived in the home where the fire started. She woke up to find curtains on fire near an old lamp.

Her longtime boyfriend, Curt Shogun, was nowhere to be found. It was initially feared that he could have been inside.

He was later found safe a neighbor's home, where he had fallen asleep.

A family with five children lived in a neighboring home that was destroyed. They all got out safely.

The other neighboring home that burned was vacant.

No one was injured, but firefighters had a tough time getting to the scene becaus the snow was creating slick conditions.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
