Firefighter Injured In West Homestead Blaze

WEST HOMESTEAD (KDKA) – A firefighter was injured after falling down an elevator shaft while battling a blaze in West Homestead early Sunday morning.

According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the fire broke out at Three Rivers Supply in the 400-block of West Seventh Avenue around 1:30 a.m.

The firefighter suffered a leg injury and was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but the building was heavily damaged.
