One Firefighter Sent To Hospital After Penn Hills Apartment Fire

PENN HILLS (KDKA) -- A firefighter was sent to the hospital after battling an apartment fire in Penn Hills late Saturday night.

The fire broke out at the Alcoma On The Green apartments on Alcoma Boulevard.

According to the Penn Hills No. 7 Volunteer Fire Company, the fire started Saturday night just before midnight, and it originated in an apartment on the third floor. Crews were able to extinguish the fire and start ventilation.

The Penn Hills Vo. 7 Volunteer Fire company says one firefighter was sent to a local hospital for evaluation. The reason he was sent to the hospital is unknown.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
