Fire Kills 1, Leaves 19 Homeless, Including 9 Children

LITTLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a fire in central Pennsylvania killed a man and displaced 19 other people, almost half of them children.

Officials in Adams County said the blaze was reported in the borough of Littlestown just before midnight Saturday. Arriving fire crews reported heavy smoke, and the flames spread to eight apartment units before they were brought under control.

The county coroner's office said a 55-year-old man was found dead at the scene. His name wasn't immediately released. An autopsy is planned to determine the cause of death.
