Fire Breaks Out At Hazelwood High-Rise For 2nd Time In A Week

HAZELWOOD (KDKA)- For the second time in less than a week, a high-rise in Hazelwood caught fire.

This morning's fire started just before 2 a.m. a the Hazelwood Towers on Tecumseh Street.

Several residents evacuated the building as firefighters arrived at the scene. They found there was a mattress fire on one of the floors and quickly knocked down the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Two of the residents were taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

The same high-rise caught fire on Saturday morning. The four-alarm fire did some serious damage, but the building was still livable. No one was seriously hurt during Saturday's fire.
