Fiery Crash In Beaver Co. Leaves Driver Injured

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – One person was injured after an Indy 500 pace car driving in Beaver County crashed and went up in flames.

It happened at the Chippewa exit on 376 going eastbound.

Witnesses say the car was speeding before it crashed.

Just past the exit the driver lost control and the car rolled over into a ravine. It landed on its wheels, but caught fire.

The car was reportedly an Indy 500 official pace car.

The driver was saved when some passersby stopped to pull him out.

The driver was flown to the hospital in unknown condition.
