Tractor-Trailer-Car Crash Kills Woman, 2 Kids, Injures 3

HARFORD, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say an early morning crash involving a car and a tractor-trailer in northeastern Pennsylvania has claimed the lives of a woman and two children and injured three other people.

State police in Susquehanna County said the rig apparently struck the car from behind shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday in the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 in Harford Township.

Coroner Tim Rowland of Lackawanna County said the car driver - 25-year-old Alicia Stocks of Rockaway, New York - was pronounced dead in the trauma center at Geisinger Community Medical Center.

Rowland said two children were also killed. Their names and ages weren't immediately released. Two other passengers from the car were also taken to the hospital along with the rig driver, who according to state police had minor injuries.
