A man was killed in a crash on Route 422 on Saturday, according to a spokesperson for Pennsylvania State Police.

The victim, identified as 43-year-old Ronald Litzinger, was traveling in the righthand lane of Route 422 West on a motorcycle when he crossed into the left lane and struck the center median before re-entering the righthand lane of traffic and striking a guide rail on the northern side of the highway, according to a report from Pennsylvania State Police.

Litzinger was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Multiple witnesses reported seeing the motorcycle "wobbling violently" on the roadway, which was a "prime factor in this incident," the report added.

The Butler County Department of Emergency Services said Route 422 was reopened as of 12:55 p.m.
