Family Of Five Killed In Bellevue Fire Laid To Rest

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- There was a tearful farewell Friday to a family of five killed in a Bellevue house fire.

Family, friends and strangers filled Risen Lord Parish Church on the North Side to mourn and to celebrate the lives of 41-year-old Stephen Lasch, 38-year-old Angela Lasch, and their children: 11-year-old Noah, six-year-old Kayley and four-year-old Hannah.

"I, kind of in a weird way, had some relief for them because I knew they didn't have to mourn the loss of their children," said family friend Cheryl Stephens.

Stephens left the church right after the funeral going directly to the Lasch house, saying she was drawn there.

"I kind of have peace, because I know they are all together," she said.

All five victims were found on the first floor of their duplex, alive but unresponsive. Within hours all five would be dead.

"I'm sad, I see the bikes of the children on the porch, it makes me so sad, so sad that a family had so much love and the parents had so much love for the children. So sad that they are all gone," Stephens said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
