Family escapes house fire in Clairton

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A family safely escaped their home following a fire in Clairton.

The fire broke out on Wednesday evening along Chambers Street.

The homeowners tell KDKA that they managed to get out of the house with their cat after the fire started -- but in the fire, the cat ran away.

Investigators are looking into how the fire started.
