Family Accused Of Shoplifting At Walmart Together, Children Involved

LINCOLN-LEMINGTON-BELMAR (KDKA) - Several family members are facing charges after being accused of shoplifting together at a local Walmart.

Desiree Chapple, 37, Diedra Chapple, 36, and Donna Chapple, 18, were all arrested Sunday. Police say they tried to steal merchandise from the Walmart at the Waterworks Mall on Freeport Road.

According to the criminal complaint, the two sisters, one of their 18-year-old daughters and two 14-year-old family members hid merchandise in their shopping cart, bags and backpacks.

The items they stole included swimsuits, underwear and even some frozen corn.

The family members were all arrested just after 3 p.m. Sunday, when they tried to leave the store with the stolen goods. A security employee at the store caught them stuffing items into bags and followed them out of the store.

Desiree, Diedra and Donna Chapple have each been charged with retail theft, corruption of minors and conspiracy.
