Facebook Offers New Settings For Accounts Of Users Who've Died

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – It's a question many will face someday: what happens to us online after we die?

On Facebook, accounts are memorialized at the request of loved ones, who must provide proof such as an obituary.

But now, users can take their online afterlife planning a step further.

People can pick a "legacy contract" for someone who can post on their page after they die, respond to new friend requests and update cover and profile photos.

Users can also have their accounts deleted after their death, which was not possible before.

If you are interested, just head to your account's security settings.
