Extreme Cold Continues Through The Weekend

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Don't let the clear, sunny skies fool you – it's still freezing outside.

Saturday will continue to see sub-zero temperatures with wind chill. But the afternoon sunshine should help the temperatures rise a little.

"It'll be a little more tolerable by lunch time," said meteorologist Kristin Emery.

The sunny skies won't last long though, as another storm system is headed toward Pittsburgh after the weekend.

"It will be a quiet 48 hours until we get another system coming in," said Emery.

It's expected to bring a wintry mix of sleet and snow Sunday night into Monday morning.

Next week will continue to warm up a bit, with highs in the low 30s.
