Ex-Officer To Stand Trial For Sexually Assaulting Drug Informant

UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A former Pennsylvania police officer who once headed a county drug task force must stand trial on charges he raped a drug informant as he threatened to file new charges against her.

Ryan Reese, 43, worked for the Connellsville Police Department in 2011, when he allegedly raped the woman after finding heroin and drug paraphernalia on her bed while visiting her home.

Reese, who formerly headed the Fayette County Task Force, has denied wrongdoing. His defense attorney has suggested the alleged victim - and two other female accusers - had ulterior motives to accuse him.

Reese is already awaiting trial on charges he had sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl, and allegations he forced a second woman to have sex after her drug-related arrest in 2012.
