ESPN To Broadcast Pitt-Penn State Game Nationwide

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- University of Pittsburgh and Penn State University fans across the country will be able to cheer on their teams Saturday.

Pitt Athletics announced Sunday that the Pitt-Penn State game will be nationally televised by ESPN.

The game kicks off at noon on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Heinz Field. This is the first time the rivals will play each other since 2000, when the Panthers beat the Nittany Lions 12-0.

The Pitt football season kicked off Saturday with a 28-7 win against Villanova. The game also marked a return for running back James Conner, who played his first game back since battling Hodgkin's Lymphoma last year and being declared cancer-free in May. Conner scored the Panthers' first touchdown of the season.
