Edinson Volquez On Being A Pirate In 2015: 'Hopefully'
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Coming off getting a win over the Chicago Cubs, Pirates starter Edinson Volquez joined Pirates postgame with Dan Zangrilli and Kevin Orie Sunday afternoon.
Volquez talked about where he sees himself next year, given that he's a free agent following this season.
When asked if he could see himself playing for the Pirates in 2015, Volquez said, "hopefully." Additionally, when asked if he has interest in signing with the Pirates, he responded, "why not?"
When it comes to the win he got over the Cubs today, Volquez talked about the triple play that was turned behind him and whether or not he has had that happen before.
"Not even close," Volquez said. "[It was] the biggest play of the whole game."
Volquez even admitted he was just hoping for a double play when the ball came off the bat.
