One Killed In Indiana County Crash

EAST WHEATFIELD TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- One person was killed in a car crash in Indiana County on Friday morning.

It happened around 8:40 a.m. on SR-56 east in East Wheatfield Township.

According to state police, a truck hauling coal was traveling east along the road and traveled into the westbound lane while going around a curve in the road. The truck crashed into a car that was traveling in the westbound lane.

The man driving the car -- 21-year-old Ryan Decker, of Armagh, Pa. -- was killed in the crash.

No one else was in the vehicle with Decker at the time of the crash.

The truck driver was not injured.

The road was closed for just over 5 hours while investigators were on the scene. It reopened after 2 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
