1 Injured After Rollover Crash On Route 30 In East McKeesport

EAST MCKEESPORT, Pa. (KDKA) - One person was taken to a McKeesport area hospital Friday afternoon after a three vehicle wreck on the 400 block of Lincoln Highway.

Witnesses told East McKeesport Police that the wreck happened when a car was pulling out of the GetGo parking lot, attempting to make a left turn onto Fifth Avenue.

When the car pulled out, it was struck by an SUV, sending the car smashing into another car.

Police said there were three people involved, one person in each vehicle.

The one person who was transported sustained minor injuries, police said.

According to Russ Stroschein, Chief of East McKeesport Police, crews respond to this intersection at least once a week for accidents involving that left turn.

"It happens because when people come out to make that left turn cars coming up in the turning lane, they don't see them or the don't have enough clearance," said Chief Stroschein.

Chief Russ Stroschein said he plans on contacting the state to remove that left turn in hopes to eliminate the high volume of accidents near that intersection.

The scene is now clear.
