Man dies at the hospital days after East Liberty shooting

Man in critical condition after shooting in East Liberty

A man has died at the hospital several days after being shot in Pittsburgh's East Liberty neighborhood.

Pittsburgh Public Safety said that police, fire, and EMS units were called to the area of Omega Court for a reported shooting around 1 a.m. on Friday morning.

First responders arrived at the scene and found a man in his 30s who had been shot in the chest. 

The man, later identified as Bryson Lewis, 36, was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Lewis died at the hospital on Monday morning according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police said the early investigation led officers to believe that the shooting happened inside the home after a fight.

The Pittsburgh Police's Violent Crime Unit is investigating.
