Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Alleged Drunk Driver In Uniontown

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) -- A friend told KDKA's Amy Wadas that Christina Dawn Glisan was getting ready to move back to Virginia. She was from Uniontown and worked at Lady Luck Casino at Nemacolin Woodlands, but her life was cut short when she was hit by an alleged drunk driver while crossing the road after leaving a bar.

Glisan was crossing North Gallatin Avenue Extension in North Union Township when police say she was struck by alleged drunk driver David Lincoln Lee, 47, who was driving a Ford F-150 headed east.

Police say he took off. Glisan was leaving Smitty's Bar. Her best friend says Glisan was about to turn 45 on Nov. 1, and they were throwing her a going away party before she moved.

The bar was pretty busy Friday night. Thomas Jacobs said he left before the accident happened.

"They had a party last night. With the cars parked here she probably didn't see what was coming," Jacobs said.

When police got to the scene just after midnight Saturday, they say they saw Glisan lying on the shoulder of the road. The coroner pronounced her dead a short time later.

About an hour later, police found the truck in the 200 block of Youngstown Road in nearby Lemont Furnace with visible damage on the front passenger side.

Police tracked down Lee and his girlfriend at their home on Youngstown Road and were taken to be questioned.

The girlfriend told police the couple got into an argument while she was driving so Lee ended up getting behind the wheel and took over. When the couple passed Smitty's Bar, she told police she heard a loud thump. That's when she says Lee stated "I hit somebody" and took off.

She told police she wanted to go back but Lee refused, for fear of getting into trouble.

Lee is behind bars at the Fayette County Prison. He was given a bond of $250,000 straight cash. He faces multiple charges tonight including homicide by vehicle and driving under the influence. State police out of Uniontown are handling the investigation.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 14.
