"Drink For Pink" Events Benefit Susan G. Komen Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Peter's Pub in Oakland was drenched in pink Thursday night.

Dozens of people came out for the annual "Drink For Pink" event, benefiting Susan G. Komen Pittsburgh.

"We've been doing this every year for almost 7 years, we bring guest celebrities, we bring guest bartenders from council members to senators," said organizer Georgia Petropoulos.

Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, former Steeler Charlie Batch, and Pitt football coach Pat Narduzzi were all there.

"We'll do anything in this city to support the cause, the breast cancer and pink, come down here to help out and do what we can," Narduzzi said.

Signature pink drinks donated by Wiggle whiskey were served at Peter's Pub, and at the Drink For Pink event at Andy's Wine Bar downtown.

The locations competed to raise the most donations for Susan G. Komen Pittbsurgh.

In the past three years, the events have raised more than $12,000.

Both parties were put on by the Oakland Business Improvement District and the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership.
