Downtown Transformed Into NYC For Jake Gyllenhaal Movie

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Downtown Pittsburgh is being transformed into New York City for the new movie Southpaw.

The former Saks building is being turned into Madison Square Garden for the movie featuring Jake Gyllenhaal, Rachel McAdams, 50 Cent, and Lupita Nyong'o.

A banner advertising "the light heavyweight championship" boxing match between Gyllenhaal's Billy Hope and another boxer hung outside the building.

New York City taxi cabs and police cars were also seen on Smithfield Street.

The film is shooting in Pittsburgh through early August. The film previously shot in Indiana, Pa., in June.

This is the second time Gyllenhaal has been involved in a movie shot in Pittsburgh. Filming for "Love and Other Drugs," also starring Anne Hathaway, took place in the city in 2009.
