Man In Custody, 2 Hospitalized After Stabbing Downtown

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- One man is in custody and two other people were taken to the hospital after a stabbing right in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh Wednesday afternoon.

According to emergency dispatchers, it all started around 5 p.m. on Fort Duquesne Boulevard, near the 9th Street Bridge.

The man taken into custody is accused of stabbing another man who had been arguing with a woman.

Several people witnessed the incident.

"Somebody could have been down here taking a picture and they end up in the middle of a situation, they had nothing to do with," Roneese Davis, one of the witnesses, said. "People have no self-respect and they have no consideration for the people around them, anything could be happening down here."

The man who was stabbed suffered a wound to the hand.

He was taken to the hospital along with the woman. She was not seriously hurt, but checked out as a precaution.
