Downed Tree Causes Natural Gas Line To Rupture & Catch Fire

HANOVER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - A natural gas line ruptured and caught on fire in Washington County Wednesday morning.

According to officials, the line ruptured in the 200 block of Steubenville Pike in Hanover Township.

A tree fell down, which brought wires down and caused a transformer to blow.

The tree also ruptured the gas line.

Initially, fire crews are unable to approach the fire. The gas has since been shut off, but there is no word on when repairs will be completed.
