Double Shooting In The Hill District Leaves 1 Man Dead

HILL DISTRICT (KDKA) - Pittsburgh police homicide detectives are looking into a deadly shooting in the Hill District.

Shots rang out around 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, in the 200-block of Lombard Street.

When police arrived, two men were suffering from gunshot wounds. Donald Harris Jr., 20, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim, an 18-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was last listed in serious condition.

"Right now, we're still trying to piece together exactly what happened," said Pittsburgh Police spokeswoman Sonya Toler. "We are examining some vehicles that took gunfire and talking to neighbors to see what they heard and saw."

Police say one car was hit by gunfire. It was towed away from the scene to be processed.

The man who was shot and killed was found near the rear of a car that was shot up. Toler says that it appears the men were getting in or getting out of the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

So far, no arrests have been made.
