Don't Believe The Hype On Viral Facebook Powerball Post

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – It's the post going around Facebook that has everyone talking, but if you actually do the math, you'll find out it is way off.

The photo shows that the jackpot, which is now $1.4 billion, could help solve poverty in the United States.

The photo says if you divided $1.3 billion among the U.S. population, then everyone would get $4.33 million.

The only problem?

$1.3 billion divided by 300-million actually equals $4.33 dollars, not millions.

The person who created the photo is really fooling a lot of Facebook users.
