Police Arrest Man Who Fired Shots Into Apartment

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police arrested a man who fired multiple shots into an apartment building Monday.

The shooting happened around 9:15 a.m. Monday in the 2400-block of Chauncey Drive.

Police say 26-year-old Donovan Devontenno, of Knoxville, pulled up to an apartment building, got out of his vehicle, shot approximately 10 rounds into an apartment, then got back in his vehicle and drove away.

Officers in the area heard the gunshots and went to investigate. They found that the 22-year-old woman in the apartment was uninjured.

According to police, officers, who had a description of Devontenno's vehicle, were searching for him when they found Devontenno's vehicle parked at S. 13th Street and Sarah Street in the South Side. Devontenno was located and taken into custody.

Police say a handgun, marijuana and spent shell casings were in plain view inside the vehicle. When officers conducted a search of the vehicle, they found a backpack with more marijuana, crack cocaine, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and more than $1,400 in cash.

Devontenno is an the Allegheny County Jail and faces a number of charges, including discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
