Police Investigating Dollar Bank Robbery

CASTLE SHANNON (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a bank robbery that took place Thursday afternoon in Castle Shannon.

The robbery happened at the Dollar Bank at 400 Mount Lebanon Blvd. at 4:50 p.m.

Allegheny County police say the suspect entered the bank with a black semi-automatic hand gun. He jumped over the teller counter, removed money from the teller drawer, jumped back over the counter and left the building. Police say he may have gone into the wooded area behind the bank.

The suspect is described as a man, about 5-feet-10-inches tall with an athletic build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a grey hoodie with red draw strings, dark pants, black tennis shoes and light-colored gloves. He had his hood up and his face covered.
