Displaced Pittsburgher Pat McAfee Previews AFC Championship Game

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Colts punter and local native Pat McAfee joined The Fan Morning Show on Friday to help the guys preview the AFC Championship Game between McAfee's Colts and the Patriots, which takes place on Sunday.

McAfee said that the Colts feel great entering the matchup.

"We're a very confident team right now," McAfee said. "We stacked two games back-to-back against very good teams where we played very well in all three phases of the game. The playoffs are all about which team gets hot. You saw that with the Baltimore Ravens. You saw it with the Giants. You saw it with Seattle last year. We're a hot team right now. We know that. We've been working really hard. We've been preparing very well."

He also explained that they aren't embracing their role as the underdogs entering New England.

"Whenever you talk about teams that are supposed to win and all that stuff, that's all conversations that are happening outside our locker room, outside of our building," McAfee said. "So it doesn't really bother us much. We're going up there with the idea that we're going to win this game... I don't think the target being on their back as opposed to ours really changes anything for us, because if we lived like that, that'd be a pretty sad football team."

McAfee also had a bit of fun with the guys about being a displaced Pittsburgher during the early and latter stages of the interview.
