Defensive Coordinator Candidate On Narduzzi's Radar
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- Early Sunday morning, 93.7 The Fan learned new Pitt football head coach Pat Narduzzi plans to heavily consider current Syracuse assistant head coach and defensive line coach Tim Daoust as Pitt's new defensive coordinator.
Narduzzi has yet to announce any personnel changes since taking over for Paul Chryst, but isn't expected to retain current Pitt defensive coordinator Matt House.
Daoust was a graduate assistant at the University of Cincinnati in 2005 when Narduzzi was the defensive coordinator for the Bearcats.
In 2013, Syracuse's defensive line -- commanded by Daoust -- was a force and paramount in leading an Orange defense that was the lone Division I school in the country to not allow a 100-yard rusher in any game.
Daoust has been at Syracuse since 2011 and has also coached at Western Michigan, Central Michigan and Illinois State.
