PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A pedestrian was killed Tuesday night in a hit-and-run crash in Pittsburgh's Point Breeze neighborhood.

Pittsburgh Public Safety said the deadly crash happened on Penn Avenue at Carnegie Place. An adult man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 66-year-old Freeman Holeman.

"I heard a noise," said the owner of Evergreen Cafe on Penn Avenue

The owner said the 66-year-old victim stopped in for a drink on Tuesday around 10 p.m.

"He was here for four minutes," he said. "I looked at my cameras. He had one beer and walked outside."

Police say when Holeman left Evergreen Cafe, he was hit when crossing Penn Avenue.

Pittsburgh Public Safety said officers were looking for a green Honda minivan with possible front-end damage. They believe they found the vehicle and obtained a search warrant. They found it parked on Wesley Street in Wilkinsburg.

Anyone with information can call 911.
