86-year-old man killed in crash involving SUV and dump truck carrying a construction vehicle

MANOR, Pa. (KDKA) -- A man has died after a car collided with a truck carrying a construction vehicle in Westmoreland County.

The crash occurred around 8 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Broadway Street and Liberty Avenue on the border of Westmoreland City and Manor Borough.

First responders from several municipalities rushed to the scene of the crash that involved a Hyundai Kona SUV and a dump truck carrying a construction Bobcat on a trailer.  

Westmoreland County Coroner Tim Carson confirmed that an 86-year-old man, later identified as Vincent B. Neal, was in the passenger vehicle and was killed.

Neal was driving the SUV, and while seat belts were worn and airbags deployed during the crash, Vincent was pronounced dead at the scene.

His wife was also in the car. She was trapped for a time after the crash but was rescued by fire crews and taken to Forbes Hospital in Monroeville for treatment. Her condition was not immediately known.

Both the Pennsylvania State Police and Manor Police are investigating what caused this crash to occur.
