DA Drops Charges Accusing Paramedic Of Rape In Ambulance
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Prosecutors have dropped all charges against a former Pennsylvania paramedic accused of sexually assaulting a mentally disabled woman inside an ambulance.
Fifty-one-year-old Parker Foster Jr., of Greensburg, was scheduled for trial Thursday when the Allegheny County DA abruptly dropped all charges. Spokesman Mike Manko says the woman "provided information that made it impossible for us to sustain our burden of proof" just before trial.
Manko wouldn't describe that information. Foster's attorney didn't immediately comment.

Police say the woman was extremely vulnerable and called Foster when he offered to take her to get ice cream.
Police say Foster sexually molested the woman on Jan. 25, then raped her the next day when she returned to Guardian Angel Ambulance Service in Verona, where he worked, and asked to see the inside of an ambulance.
