Customers Help Stop Robbery At Washington Goodwill

WASHINGTON (KDKA)- Customer stepped in to help out workers at the Goodwill in Washington on Sunday.

According to police, 45-year-old Angelina Doswell walked into the store on Jefferson Avenue and punched a store clerk in the face. Police say she grabbed the register, knocked it to the floor and took the cash inside.

According to the Observer-Reporter, Doswell was tackled to the ground by customers and held there until police arrived.

The incident happened around 4:30 p.m., as the Goodwill was packed with shoppers.

Police say Doswell told them she needed the money.

Lt. David Bradley told the Observer-Reporter that officers were called to a home on East Prospect Avenue earlier in the day on Sunday. A man called from the home asking officers to remove Doswell from the house.

She faces charges of robbery, simple assault, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Doswell is being held in the Washington County Jail on a $10,000 straight bond.
