Customers Credited With Subduing Robbery Suspect At Local Restaurant

NATRONA HEIGHTS (KDKA) -- Some customers are being credited with stopping a suspected robbery suspect from trying to make off with money from a local Chinese buffet.

Police say the suspect, identified as 41-year-old Heath Kuntz of Kittanning, recently walked into the Fortune Star Buffet and Grill in Natrona Heights just as the hostess went to seat a customer.

According to investigators, he then alleged tried to break into the cash register using a crowbar.

But when three of the customers heard the commotion, they grabbed him and took the crowbar away, and then held him down until police arrived.

Kuntz was put in handcuffs and taken away.

He's charged with burglar, criminal attempt and possession of instruments of a crime.
