Crews Working To Pull Body From Allegheny River

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Crews are working to pull a body from the Allegheny River.

Officials are working in the area of the Highland Park Bridge, which is also close to the dam.

Friday, emergency crews were called to the Fox Chapel Yacht Club in O'Hara Township, after a man in his 70s was swept up in the current.

Witnesses said he quickly went under the water and resurfaced only a few seconds later hundreds of yards away.

Crews searched for the man throughout the evening, but called off their search Saturday.

It's unclear if the two events are related.

Stay with KDKA for more information.
