Icy Conditions Cause Crashes On Ohio River Blvd.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Icy conditions sent emergency crews to Ohio River Boulevard Friday night for several accidents.

Police had to shut down the inbound lanes of the road because of the crashes.

It happened just after 10 p.m. near the McKees Rocks Bridge.

Witnesses at the scene said the road was a sheet of ice.

No word yet on injuries.

KDKA's Jon Burnett says it will be a very cold night across the area.

Watch the latest forecast here:

"This is a January night, and you've got a January morning waiting for you [Saturday] with bitter cold temperatures, at least for late March, early April," Burnett said. "Readings [Saturday] morning for many of you down in the low to mid-teens and that's without the wind chill."

Drivers are advised to take it slow and watch for icy spots.
