2 Transported After Multi-Vehicle Crash Temporarily Closes Portion Of Parkway West

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Two people were transported after a multi-vehicle crash temporarily closed a portion of the Parkway West Friday night.

According to Pa. State Police 43-year old Michael Morelli, of Massilon, OH, was driving the wrong way on Interstate-376 Westbound just before 10:00 p.m. on Friday.

Morelli failed to stop when Findlay Township Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

Morelli then crashed into a marked Findlay Township Police vehicle that was positioned at the McLaren Road Exit (Exit 56) diverting traffic off of the highway.

Morelli was transported to Allegheny General Hospital.

The police officer involved in the crash was transported to UPMC Mercy.

Their injuries are unknown at this time.

Morelli is facing pending charges.
