CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A Cranberry Township man remains on life-support after he was struck by a car Wednesday night.

Aleksander Teimouri, 22, will remain on life support at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital until doctors find matches for organs.

Teimouri suffered a severe head injury when officials say he was struck by an SUV while riding his bicycle home from work at a local restaurant along Rochester Road in Cranberry Township.

Police say the driver, 51-year old David Lohr, also from Cranberry Township, smelled strongly of alcohol. According to investigators, his blood alcohol content was .141 percent.

Lohr told police they were both heading westbound when the accident happened.

Teimouri's family is devastated.

"He would get so mad if he ever heard of anyone drunk driving," said Arvella Teimouri, the victim's sister. "He gave me so many rides, he would come from Cranberry all the way to the city just to pick me up so I didn't even have to call an Uber."

Police say Lohr's vehicle dragged the bike along the highway. He is now charged with aggravated assault by vehicle, reckless driving and driving under the influence.

Meanwhile, Teimouri's mother says her son lived a life of service since he was 12. He worked with an ambulance service, and one time donated a lawnmower to a homeless man so he could earn some money.

He always wanted to help people by donating his time and energy to help others.

"He did, he got a plaque from the mayor for saving somebody's life after a hurricane," said Christina Teimouri, the victim's mother. "He would be so upset now to be on the news, because he was humble."

Teimouri will remain on life support while doctors continue to find multiple recipients for his organs.

"I believe his heart will go to a 61-year-old local man, his liver and one kidney is designated for another gentleman," Christina said. "He was so loved, called our 'golden boy.'"

Doctors are also looking for a lung recipient. And other organ donations will help hundreds of patients.

Teimouri was a recent graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where he majored in pre-med biology and chemistry. He was chosen to be a Pathfinder to help recruit students at the university.

He was also applying to join the Air Force para-rescue squad, known as the Guardian Angels.
