Couple Gets Wedding Surprise On Kiss Cam At Penguins Game
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - What couple could resist the call of "KissCam" at a Penguins game... on Valentine's Day, no less?
But one couple received a special announcement over the PPG Paints Arena loudspeaker on Tuesday night.
"You know, the Penguins love members of the Armed Forces. It's with great pleasure that we welcome these two members right here. Nadine Brown and Joshua Stumpf, both of whom served in Iraq in the Army Reserves and are from Indiana, Pa."
"Towards the end of the last period, I guess, that's when they announced it," Nadine Brown told KDKA the day following the big announcement.
She says they had been invited to the game for free, as part of a hotel-sponsored wedding contest.
"We applied online. We wrote an essay. They took our essay, so we moved up to the next step, which was creating a video. And we were told that we were the runner-up," she said.
"About a month ago," fiancé Joshua Stumpf said, "a family member called and said, 'What are you doing Valentine's Day? We want to take you to a Penguins game.'"
"And now we found out we're the winners," Nadine added.
"We'd also like to congratulate Nadine and Josh, for winning the 'Stars and Stripes Dream Wedding Vacation' to Hawk's Cay Resort in the Florida Keys," the rink announcer added. "That's right. Out of hundreds of military couples, you two won the dream wedding worth more than $30,000!"
Sometimes, a kiss is not... just a kiss.
