County Council To Consider Proposal To Use Bridges As Special Events Venues

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A proposal to use Allegheny County bridges as venues for special events is on the agenda for tonight's County Council meeting.

Do you remember last year when the Clemente Bridge was closed to traffic for a bridge party to welcome the giant Rubber Duck?

Allegheny County Councilman Ed Kress says we should hold more events like that on county bridges.

He plans to introduce a resolution in council to use the bridges for more special events tonight.

Future events could include a county fair-type event, or a restaurant night, where tables are set up and people can order meals and eat on the bridge.
