Coroner called to the scene of a crash involving a horse and buggy on Saturday night

Crash involving horse and buggy under investigation

MERCER COUNTY (KDKA) - Pennsylvania State Police and the Mercer County Coroner were called to investigate a crash involving a horse and buggy. 

The crash happened on New Castle-Mercer Road, just northeast of New Wilmington, around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

A medical helicopter was called along with the coroner. 

KDKA has learned the driver of the buggy died in the crash. Investigators said the driver of a pick-up truck came up behind the horse and buggy and rear-ended them.

Daniel Miller, 77, was thrown from the buggy and killed.

State police said they're still investigating. There's no word on whether charges will be filed.
