Serial Robber Surrenders After Homewood SWAT Situation
HOMEWOOD (KDKA) -- A man was taken into custody after a SWAT situation in Homewood early Monday afternoon.
A SWAT team and police were called to a home in the 500-block of Cora Street around 11:15 a.m.
Authorities received a tip that 25-year-old Quintin Smith-Anderson, who was wanted in connection to a number of robberies, was hiding out in the home.
Investigators said last week that Smith-Anderson may have committed as many as 15 robberies in Monroeville, Edgewood, Robinson, Penn Hills, the Waterworks Mall, Squirrel Hill and Wilkinsburg.

County police tracked Smith-Anderson from New Stanton to the home on Cora Street.
Sometime before noon, Smith-Anderson came out of the house with his hands in the air and surrendered peacefully. He was taken into custody.
Police and SWAT units left the scene just after noon.
Smith-Anderson has been arrested on warrants for three armed robberies in Wilkinsburg that occurred on July 7, 11 and 12.
This is not his first arrest. In 2011, when he was 19 years old, he was arrested for robbing an off-duty city police officer and his wife at gunpoint.
