Cops: Drunken Homeless Man Berates Patron Who Wouldn't Buy Him Socks

CARBONDALE, Pa. (AP) - Police say a homeless man berated and harassed a customer at a Pennsylvania dollar store who refused to buy him a pair of socks.

The (Scranton) Times-Tribune reports 54-year-old Paul Harrigan faces a preliminary hearing Sept. 7 on charges of harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Police say Harrigan screamed and cursed at the customer, then followed him around the Dollar Tree store in Carbondale after the customer refused to buy the socks on Tuesday night.

Harrigan doesn't have an attorney listed in court records. He remained in the Lackawanna County jail on Thursday.
