Cops: Burglary Suspect Found Sleeping With Mate In Victim's Garage

NEW CASTLE, Pa. (AP) - A western Pennsylvania man has been jailed on burglary charges after police found him sleeping in the victim's garage - with a woman.

The New Castle News reports Tuesday the woman found with 21-year-old Spencer Peak has yet to be charged.

New Castle police say they found the couple about 4:35 a.m. Saturday.

That's when the homeowner went downstairs and found a glass jar containing cash missing, some furniture moved, and cabinets opened. The female homeowner also found her safe on the back porch, her purse missing and her basement door forced open.

Police say they found the sleeping intruders after noticing the garage light was on.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Peak who faces a preliminary hearing Sept. 1 on burglary and other charges.
