Contractor Installing Highway Guide Rails Hit, Killed By Company Car

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A contractor installing guide rails along a Washington County highway was killed when he was struck by a company car.

Police say 42-year-old Legrant Blackwell, of Connellsville, was killed while working along State Route 22 in Hanover Township Thursday afternoon.

Blackwell worked for Green Acres Contracting Company.

According to the police report, Blackwell was hit by a company car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It's unclear who was driving at the time.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, OSHA, is investigating.
