Constable Charged With Embezzling $1 Million In Real Estate Taxes

BADEN (KDKA) -- A former Baden Borough constable is facing charges.

Keith Kristek is accused of stealing $1 million in real estate taxes from the Ambridge Area School District and Baden Borough from 2007 to 2015.

Kristek allegedly did so by collecting cash real estate tax payments and keeping them for himself.

He's also accused of forging the signature of Baden's tax collector to endorse checks which he turned into cash for himself.
