PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Multiple sources have told KDKA's Political Editor Jon Delano that Congressman Conor Lamb will announce his candidacy for the United States Senate next month.
Multiple sources tell me that @RepConorLamb @ConorLambPA will announce he is running for the US Senate next week. This should energize a multiple candidate race for the Democratic nomination, featuring two strong Western PA candidates and two strong Eastern PA candidates. @KDKA pic.twitter.com/nrLKVrWF4G

According to those close to Rep. Lamb, he will formally announce his candidacy on Aug. 6.
The 37-year-old suburban Pittsburgh representative will join Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, Montgomery County Commissioner Val Arkoosh, and Philadelphia state representative Malcolm Kenyatta, among others, in seeking next spring's Democratic nomination to replace Sen. Pat Toomey.
Lamb is expected to make his announcement next Friday at the IBEW Union Hall on the South Side.
